The consensus
What reviewers found
Synthesized across the trust-weighted source mix below.
Across the reviewers we read, this 4,400 lb folding shop crane lands as a competent home-garage option rather than a shop workhorse. It carries a 4.2 Amazon average across a small 16-review sample, and retailer listings (walmart.ca, homedepot.com) describe four adjustable boom heights, six steel casters, and collapsible legs. A high-trust r/Tools thread on whether budget cranes are safe concluded they are fine for one-off or occasional jobs, with the caveat to consider renting if you only need it once.
What reviewers liked
- Four adjustable boom heights and six casters suit varied home-garage tasks, per walmart.ca and homedepot.com listings
- Folding design saves space, the feature r/projectcar and r/harborfreight commenters most often recommend
- High-trust r/Tools consensus is that this class of crane is adequate for occasional, properly-supported use
Where it falls short
- Very small review sample (16 Amazon ratings) limits confidence in long-term reliability
- At ~157 lbs the unit is heavy to move and store, a general complaint about this crane class
- r/harborfreight users note these folding cranes can be shorter than older fixed-frame models, limiting reach in some bays

The only issue (now that i think about it more) is the lift cylinder fill hole cap. I wish it was a threaded bung or maybe a cap with a teather.
Absolutely the 2 ton, much more flexibility, especially when you need the additional length. 2 ton has a deeper “throat” it is easier to fit ...
