What reviewers found
Synthesized across the trust-weighted source mix below.
Across the reviewers we read, the OXO Tot Step Stool draws the most consistent praise of any simple stool in this category. Parents.com, a verified-tier publisher, highlighted its grippy surface pattern and non-slip base as providing a stable spot for toddlers who need a boost, and that emphasis on traction is echoed across verified-purchase reviews on Target and Macy's, where buyers repeatedly call out the fully non-slip bottom that keeps it planted. High-trust r/toddlers threads recommend it as a portable, perfect-height option, with one nanny of five-plus years pointing to it as a go-to.
What reviewers liked
- Verified-tier parents.com and many verified-purchase reviewers single out the non-slip base and grippy top surface
- Huge review base (4.8 across 3,068 on Amazon) corroborated by Target and Macy's buyers
- Lightweight enough for toddlers to move themselves; works for sink, toilet, and potty training
Where it falls short
- Only a ~7-inch boost, so some reviewers find it too short to reach deeper sinks or counters
- Provides no rails or enclosure, unlike a learning tower
- A single-purpose stool that won't grow into a kitchen helper

The consensus framing is that this is a do-one-thing-well product: a roughly seven-inch boost for the sink, toilet, or counter that a toddler can carry themselves. Reviewers note it doubles as a contoured potty-training stool. It is not a learning tower, so it offers no rails or fall protection at counter height, and a few buyers wish it were taller. But within its lane, the trust-weighted picture is unusually clean, which is why it earns the top overall spot.
- Gives little ones a 7-inch boost to reach things like the big kids
- The textured surface helps prevents tiny feet from slipping
- A non-slip base keeps the Stool firmly in place
- Soft handles make it simple to carry the Stool from room to room
- Holds up to 200 pounds
- Comes in three different colors, so kids can pick their favorite

We have a version of C and love it. Super easy to use and store, lays flat so you can close the toilet lid all the way if you need to sit on it.
This one doesnt lend itself to be taken apart so easily. The potty itself is deep. Its rather sturdy.
