The consensus
What reviewers found
Synthesized across the trust-weighted source mix below.
Across the reviewers we read, the ASUS ROG Astral RTX 5080 is the enthusiast splurge: a quad-fan, vapor-chamber flagship that TweakTown says delivers double-digit 4K gains over the Founders Edition, with r/RTX5080 owners reporting overclocks comfortably past 3300 MHz. thinkcomputers documents the factory overclock and hefty cooler. The sentiment is sharply divided on value, however: r/hardware threads bluntly call it 'a stupid, overpriced product,' noting the roughly 50% markup over reference MSRP buys only marginally lower temps and a few percent more performance.
What reviewers liked
- Top-tier 4K performance and overclocking headroom per TweakTown and r/RTX5080
- Massive quad-fan vapor-chamber cooler keeps temps low
- Strong build quality and 3-year warranty noted by owners
Where it falls short
- r/hardware reviewers repeatedly call the price markup excessive for the gains
- Owners on r/nvidia report it can be quite loud under load
- Physically huge 3.8-slot design and the lowest Amazon average (4.4) in this pool

- Powered by the NVIDIA Blackwell architecture and DLSS 4
- Quad-fan design boosts air flow and pressure by up to 20%
- Patented vapor chamber with milled heatspreader for lower GPU temperatures
- Phase-change GPU thermal pad ensures optimal heat transfer, lowering GPU temperatures for enhanced performance and reliability
- 3.8-slot design
- massive heatsink and fin array optimized for airflow from the four Axial-tech fans
The two slot design is fantastic and a 50% markup from slapping on double the fins and double the fans to get marginally lower temps is insane.
it's a stupid, overpriced product. I would never recommend this product to anyone. 5% faster, stock, and probably 1-2% faster with an overclock.
