The RX 550 is nice. It'll play light esports games (valorant, csgo, fortnite) at 1080p >60fps no problem. If you want to play a title like God ...
The card is not great, no. The minimum card I recommend for gaming is a 1050 or a 560. I'd save $20-30 and get one of those instead of the 550.
