The consensus
What reviewers found
Synthesized across the trust-weighted source mix below.
Across the reviewers we read, the Sennheiser HD 599 stands out as an easy-to-drive, comfortable warm open-back. Two high-trust sources anchor the verdict: rtings.com describes its profile as 'slightly warm and smooth but well-balanced overall,' and soundguys.com praises its comfort, 'decent bass for open-back headphones,' and removable cables while flagging 'some distortion with loud volume.' head-fi.org calls it 'outstanding value' and specifically notes it's 'easy to drive.' The high-trust r/headphones consensus is split on its warmth. One thread calls it 'genuinely the warmest open back headphone I've ever heard,' and another finds the mid-bass emphasis makes it 'sound muddy.' Comfort, however, is near-universally praised, with multiple users describing the low clamp force as feeling 'like a cloud on your head.' Some value-focused community voices argue it's a 'hard sell' at full price given newer competition.

This headphone is extremely warm. And I don't mean that lightly, this headphone is genuinely the warmest open back headphone I've ever heard.
The HD599 has lot of bass emphazied around the mids so it sounds muddy(which i didnt feel since i was a basshead probably).
