Across the reviewers we read, the redesigned 2024 Beats Pill earned a strong comeback reception. CNET rated it 0.85 and highlighted very good sound quality for its size, strong battery life, USB-C audio with charge-out, and IP67 waterproof/dustproof rating. Digital Reviews corroborated the 24-hour battery life claim along with fast charging.
Community sentiment on r/apple and r/beatsbydre is consistently positive on punchiness, energy, and detail separation. The Pill is positioned by reviewers as a direct competitor to the Bose SoundLink Flex, and a head-to-head thread on r/Bluetooth_Speakers concluded the Pill wins on clarity and audio separation while the Bose wins on bass. For Apple-ecosystem users, one-tap iOS pairing and Find My integration are repeatedly cited as differentiators.
The dataset includes no RTINGS or Consumer Reports coverage of this model, which caps our confidence relative to the JBL and Bose picks. Community posters also note the lack of dedicated bass radiators limits low-end versus the Flex, and battery drain at high volume can run closer to 4.5 hours than the advertised 24.

In a bit of surprise, Beats has a new Pill Bluetooth speaker. Priced at $150, it's designed to compete with Bose's SoundLink Flex. Which speaker wins?
But the audience for these speakers aren't exactly the HiFi crowd. For my BT speaker I wanted good battery, decent volume and water resistance.
It's pretty decent sounding from some tests on YouTube. It's comparable to the Harman kardon Luna which is among the best in its class.
