The consensus
What reviewers found
Synthesized across the trust-weighted source mix below.
Across the reviewers we read, this dual-handle 12-inch Lodge is the cheapest well-reviewed skillet in the group and carries the highest verified-purchase average here (4.8 across more than 22,000 ratings). Serious Eats (high trust) endorses Lodge skillets broadly for searing and value, and r/castiron users repeatedly note Lodge is 'priced well' and 'virtually indestructible.' The two loop handles instead of one long handle make it easier to lift and store, though a kitchenknifeforums commenter notes the stubby helper handles are less convenient than a full-length handle for stovetop sautéing.
What reviewers liked

- Two helper handles make a heavy 12-inch pan easier to lift, per reviewers
- Serious Eats endorses the Lodge line for value and searing

Where it falls short
- Forum users say short dual handles are worse than a long handle for sauté flips
- Rough factory surface needs break-in, per r/castiron
- Heavy and can heat unevenly on induction per community reports
- No long handle limits leverage when moving the pan
