What reviewers found
Synthesized across the trust-weighted source mix below.
Across the reviewers we read, the Nama J2 is the clearest consensus pick among premium cold-press juicers. Epicurious.com and thequalityedit.com both single out the self-feeding wide-mouth hopper as the feature that meaningfully changes the workflow — you load whole produce, close the lid, and walk away — and bestofvegan.com notes assembly takes roughly two minutes. Long-running r/Juicing threads include owners on year five who still recommend it, with cleanup repeatedly cited as the reason they stuck with it over previous machines.
What reviewers liked
- Hands-free wide-mouth hopper repeatedly cited by independent reviewers as a genuine workflow improvement
- Multi-year r/Juicing owner reports praise durability and consistent juice quality
- Fast assembly (~2 minutes per bestofvegan.com) and cleanup, the #1 reason owners stick with it
- Strong, consistent yield with relatively dry pulp across the reviewers we read
Where it falls short
- Price is the highest in this pool by a wide margin
- r/Juicing bulk-juicing thread notes you need to clean mid-session for large batches
- Comparison threads flag that hydraulic and twin-gear machines (Angel, Welles) still produce drier pulp
- Some YouTube reviewers note the auger design lags newer competitors that offer self-cleaning

The disagreements are honest ones. A separate r/Juicing thread comparing the J2 to an Angel juicer notes the Angel produces drier pulp, and one bulk-juicing owner flags that the J2 requires periodic mid-session cleaning if you're processing very large quantities. YouTube reviewers ask whether Nama will eventually answer competitors with a self-cleaning auger like Hurom or Omega's batch models. None of those caveats override the broader consensus that, for everyday household juicing, the J2 is the most refined experience in the pool — but the price is the elephant in the room and is the main reason it isn't a universal recommendation.

The J2 is great. I've had numerous juicers over 30 years and there's nothing like it. If it's in your budget, you won't regret it.
It's better quality, more juice etc, but it has its cons too like pushing, less easy to use etc. Cleaning is simple on the Angel but strict.
