Are bug zappers and DynaTrap-style traps good for mosquitoes?

Reddit threads from r/Costco and r/HoustonGardening repeatedly report that UV traps catch piles of moths, gnats, and beetles but make little dent in mosquito bites. They can reduce general flying-insect nuisance, but reviewers consistently say they are not a reliable mosquito solution on their own.
