Are gas trimmers still worth it versus battery models?

Across the lawn-care subreddits we read, the consensus is that high-end battery platforms (EGO, Milwaukee, Husqvarna 9Ah) now match gas for residential trimming, while gas still wins on long commercial runs, thick brush, and any job where you can't stop to swap batteries. Gas also has lower up-front cost than a comparable battery system once you factor in batteries and a charger.
