Are power (electric) gliders worth the extra money over manual ones?

Reviewers are split. Owners of power models praise being able to recline with a baby in your arms via remote or button, but high-trust community threads also flag downsides: slow motors, occasional squeak, and on some chairs a footrest that springs back 'violently' when you stand.
