Are smart light sockets safe outdoors or in damp locations?

None of the smart light sockets in this category that we surveyed carry an outdoor or wet-location rating. They're designed for indoor lamp and fixture use. For a covered porch light, a properly IP-rated outdoor smart plug paired with a regular bulb is the safer route.
