Are tumbling composters actually faster than a stationary pile?
Reviewer consensus
Specialist composting subreddit consensus is mixed. Tumblers aerate easily and can finish a batch in roughly two months in warm weather, but they rarely reach the high temperatures of a large pile, contents tend to clump if browns are under-added, and capacity is limited per chamber. For small yards they're convenient; for serious volume, a stationary bin or open pile typically wins.
