Are wrap-around bed skirts better than traditional platform bed skirts?

They're easier to install — you don't have to lift the mattress off the box spring, which is the main reason they exist. Reviewers we read consistently say wrap-around designs (elastic band, three fabric sides) install in a couple of minutes. The trade-off is that the elastic can slip over time on slick box springs, and corners sometimes bunch. Traditional platform skirts look more tailored but require pulling the mattress.
