Do I need a built-in thermometer or smart features?
Reviewer consensus
A built-in lid thermometer is genuinely useful and shows up on most mid-tier kettles. Wi-Fi-enabled smart charcoal grills, by contrast, are still polarizing: early community threads about Weber's newest Performer Smart describe inconsistent results and a steep learning curve, so most reviewers we read still recommend a plain kettle plus a separate probe thermometer.
