Do I need a separate applicator?

Many gels and dressings apply best with a foam applicator pad for an even, sling-free coat, and some kits include one. Sprays can be applied directly but still benefit from wiping to control product distribution. If a product doesn't include an applicator, budgeting a couple dollars for foam pads is worthwhile.
