Do I need the Omnivore griddle plate or is the original fine?

Reddit consensus on r/blackstonegriddle is that the newer Omnivore plate offers better heat distribution, built-in wind guards, and less tendency to warp in cold weather. The original plate still has a huge installed base of happy owners, but most upgraders say the Omnivore is worth the premium if you cook in wind or cold.
