Do I need wired or wireless Apple CarPlay / Android Auto?

Wired CarPlay works on virtually any compatible head unit via a USB cable and is generally the more reliable connection. Wireless CarPlay frees you from cables but is more prone to occasional dropouts; among the candidates, units like the Kenwood DMX500S and several budget double-DINs advertise wireless support. If reliability matters most, wired is the safer bet.
