Do I really need a dedicated garment bag, or can a regular carry-on work?

For one or two suits, the garment compartment in a standard carry-on is usually sufficient, and several reviewers we read on r/onebag specifically said hybrid garment-duffels don't keep clothes meaningfully more wrinkle-free than a good roller's built-in suiter. A dedicated garment bag earns its keep when you need to transport multiple suits, dresses, or formalwear and want them hanging full-length until you arrive.
