Does Bluetooth version matter for a speaker?

Mostly for range and multipoint pairing. Bluetooth 5.3 (in the newer picks here) holds connection better at 30+ feet and lets two phones stay paired simultaneously. Codec support matters more for audiophiles — none of these are LDAC speakers, so phone-to-speaker audio is capped at standard SBC/AAC quality regardless of Bluetooth version.
