Freestanding shelves, overhead ceiling racks, or wall-mounted—which should I buy?
Reviewer consensus
It depends on what's scarce in your garage. Freestanding wire or steel shelves are the cheapest per cubic foot and easiest to reconfigure. Overhead ceiling racks reclaim dead space above vehicles for seasonal bins but require joist mounting and aren't great for items you access weekly. Wall-mounted shelves keep the floor clear for sweeping and parking but cap out at lower capacities. Many garages end up using a mix.
