A 4.7-star rating backed by 2,000-plus reviews is a stronger consensus signal than the same rating on a handful of reviews, which can be skewed by a few buyers. Amazon ratings are also demonstrably gameable, so we treat large, stable volumes as more credible and discount titles with very few reviews.
