How much break strength do I need for my vehicle?
Reviewer consensus
A common rule of thumb is to choose a strap or rope rated for at least 2 to 3 times your vehicle's gross weight. Most full-size trucks and SUVs are well served by straps in the 30,000-lb-plus break-strength range, while ATVs and UTVs can use lighter-rated rope. Always check the manufacturer's stated minimum break strength (MBS), not just the headline number.
