Is a cordless heat gun powerful enough for paint stripping?

Across r/Dewalt and r/Makita threads, the consensus is no — current 18V/20V cordless heat guns are convenient for heat-shrink, epoxy work, and small jobs, but they do not match the sustained output of a 1500–1800W corded gun for paint stripping or vinyl removal from vehicles. Battery runtime at high heat is also typically 10–20 minutes per charge.
