Is a disposable hair-clog tool or a reusable cable auger the better value?

For shallow tub and shower hair clogs, the very cheap disposable zip-strip style tools have enormous review volume and satisfied buyers because they're effective and almost free. Reusable wand systems and cable augers cost more upfront but handle deeper or recurring clogs and last for years, so the better value depends on how often and how deep your clogs are.
