Is an adjustable-height workbench worth it over a fixed bench?
Reviewer consensus
Adjustable-height benches are genuinely useful if more than one person uses the bench, if you switch between seated detail work and standing assembly, or if you alternate between woodworking (lower) and electronics or paperwork (higher). The trade-off is that adjustable legs are almost always less rigid than welded fixed legs, which matters for hand planing and heavy hammering.
