Is the RTX 5090 worth the price over an RTX 5080?
Reviewer consensus
Reviewers we read are split. The 5090 is unambiguously the fastest consumer GPU and adds 32GB of GDDR7 that matters for AI / ML and 4K-with-everything-on workloads, but specialist subreddits (notably r/nvidia and r/hardware) repeatedly call premium 5090 AIBs poor value versus the Founders Edition or a 5080. If you don't need the VRAM or the headroom, a 5080 is the more defensible buy.
