Mechanical or hydraulic disc brakes?
Reviewer consensus
Hydraulic discs (found on the SAVA 105 builds and the A7L Pro) offer stronger, more modulated braking in wet conditions and require less hand force — a real advantage on long descents. Mechanical discs (Schwinn Phocus) and rim brakes (Tommaso Claris builds) are cheaper and easier to service roadside. For a bike you'll keep for years and ride in mixed weather, hydraulic is the upgrade most reviewers say they don't regret.
