Should I buy a kit with batteries or a bare tool?

If you don't own the battery platform yet, the kit is almost always the better value — standalone DeWalt 20V batteries and chargers are expensive. If you already have compatible batteries, the bare-tool 'B' versions (DCF845B, DCF850B/809B, DCF870B) save significant money.
