Should I get a sliding or fixed cordless miter saw?

Fixed (non-sliding) saws are lighter, cheaper, and more accurate over time because there's less mechanism to drift, but they cap your crosscut capacity. Sliders give you the width for 2x10–2x12 stock and wide trim but add weight and cost. Subreddit threads we read repeatedly recommend a slider only if you regularly cut wider than the saw's blade diameter allows.
