What's the difference between a fanny pack and a crossbody sling?

They overlap heavily. A traditional fanny pack rides at the waist or hips, while a sling is worn diagonally across the chest or back. Most modern travel packs, including several here, use a single adjustable strap that converts between both wear styles, so the distinction is mostly about how you position it.
