What's the difference between a full color kit and a base/top coat set?

A full kit includes multiple color polishes plus base and top coats, while a base/top coat duo is just the foundation and sealing layers you use under and over any color. If you already have colors you like, a dedicated top/base set is far cheaper; if you're starting from scratch, a multi-color kit is more economical per bottle.
