What's the difference between a retrofit curtain motor and a motorized track?

A retrofit motor (like the SwitchBot openers) clips onto your existing curtain rod or track and drives the curtains along it, making installation quick and reversible. A full motorized track replaces your hardware with a powered rail; it generally looks cleaner and handles heavier or wider curtains more reliably, but installation is more involved and the units cost more.
