What's the difference between a smart night light and a basic motion-sensor night light?

A true smart night light (like the Hatch line) connects to Wi-Fi or an app to let you schedule colors, brightness, sound, and sunrise/sunset routines. Basic motion-sensor or dusk-to-dawn plug-ins are 'smart' only in that they react automatically to motion or darkness, with no app or scheduling. Decide whether you need routine-building and remote control, or just hands-free lighting in a hallway.
