What's the difference between individually controlled outlets and a regular smart plug?

On an individually controlled strip, each AC outlet can be switched on or off and scheduled separately from the app, so you can power down a lamp while leaving a router running. A basic smart plug controls only a single device. The Kasa HS300 and Tapo P316M offer six individually addressable outlets; the Kasa KP303 offers three.
