Which smart thermostat works best with Apple HomeKit?

Both ecobee models advertise Siri and HomeKit support, and Reddit's r/HomeKit threads describe the ecobee line as working well with HomeKit, with the caveat that automations and scenes can be buggy when multiple ecobee thermostats are linked to one household.
