Why do so many on-road RC cars come set up for drifting?

Drifting is one of the most popular forms of on-road RC because it works on ordinary smooth surfaces and rewards throttle and steering control rather than raw speed. Many models ship with hard drift tires plus optional grip tires, and 4WD with a gyro makes sustained slides easier to learn.
