Will leather conditioner darken my leather?

Most oil- or wax-based conditioners darken leather at least temporarily, and some permanently. Bickmore Bick 4 is the standout exception consistently called out across r/goodyearwelt and r/leatherjacket threads for not darkening finished leather, which is why it's the go-to for light-colored boots, bags, and furniture.
