Works as advertised. Adhesive on the magnet is problematic for areas with temperature changes and/or bumpy track movements like on a garage door. (my case study). I made a little harness out of wire staple and self drill screws for the long haul.
Just got the contact sensor. Smooth to setup without any problems. You can choose if you want to use it as any other trigger (like a button) ...
Give it a shot. I'd assume it would function the same on a door sensor as a dial but I have no proof of this. Hope it works for you!
