The consensus
What reviewers found
Synthesized across the trust-weighted source mix below.
Across the reviewers we read, the Polar H10 is the reference point every other strap gets measured against. dcrainmaker.com's independent coverage and a high-trust r/cycling thread both emphasize that it locks on instantly, holds its connection without dropouts, and delivers reliable readings from the first second of a workout, where cheaper sensors are described as taking ten minutes to settle. A widely cited scientific YouTube review pegged its accuracy at 99.6%, and Polar community members repeatedly call it the most validated chest strap available.
What reviewers liked
- High-trust testers and specialist communities treat it as the accuracy gold standard
- Dual Bluetooth + ANT+ connectivity pairs reliably across watches, bike computers and apps
- Reviewers note instant lock-on and no warm-up lag versus cheaper straps
- Low-profile, comfortable strap praised for daily cycling and running use
Where it falls short
- Multiple r/Polarfitness members report HR dropping to resting or zero mid-effort on some units
- Several owners cite premature battery drain and strap wear after about a year
- Priced well above budget dual-band rivals that some community members say are close enough
- Amazon average of 4.2 stars reflects a meaningful minority of reliability complaints

It's not bad. The strap lasts a little over a year, or about 800 uses. It was very bad for me, the battery would run out in 2 days and I always ...
I have problems with it constantly. Too many runs where my HR is randomly dropping to a resting HR or even zero, when im heaving and sweating.
