The consensus
What reviewers found
Synthesized across the trust-weighted source mix below.
Across the reviewers we read, the DEWALT DCS361B is the most consensus-backed cordless miter saw in the field. techgearlab.com calls it "a highly efficient battery-powered saw with decent cutting power and capacity" and rates it user-friendly, while protoolreviews.com concludes that "cordless convenience with power that exceeds my expectations and excellent build quality earns my pro recommendation." That alignment between two high-trust expert sources is unusual at this price point. Community sentiment on r/Dewalt and r/Tools reinforces the verdict: owners describe it as light, accurate, and well-suited to trim and small framing, with one r/Tools thread calling it "great for small stuff, light, and plenty of power." The most consistent complaint, surfaced in multiple r/Dewalt threads, is the absence of a depth stop, which limits dado-style or repetitive-depth work.
What reviewers liked
- Two high-trust expert sources (techgearlab.com, protoolreviews.com) independently praise power and build quality
- Exceptional Amazon signal: 4.8 average across 3,069 reviews
- Integrated cutline indicator gets strong marks vs. laser systems in community threads
- Light enough for repeated truck loading per r/Tools owners
Where it falls short
- No depth stop, flagged repeatedly in r/Dewalt threads
- 7-1/4" blade limits crosscut capacity for wide stock
- Bare-tool pricing assumes you already own a DEWALT 20V battery
- Some users in r/Dewalt note they'd prefer the dual-bevel feature found on DEWALT's larger cordless saws

The 7-1/4" blade caps crosscut capacity (roughly 2x8 nested), so buyers cutting wide trim or 2x12s regularly will want one of the 10"–12" picks below. For everyone else, the trust-weighted consensus puts this in front.

Good deal. I just bought the same saw on Amazon in January for $296. I've used it a handful of times and it works great. I haven' ...
I have one and I like it a lot. It has plenty of power with a 6ah battery and lasts for quite some time. My only complaint is the lack of a depth stop.
