The consensus
What reviewers found
Synthesized across the trust-weighted source mix below.
Across the reviewers we read, the Gerber Suspension-NXT is the most divisive pick in this roundup, and the synthesis has to reflect that honestly. On r/multitools, one well-circulated thread titled "Gerber NXT Suspension: a brutal review" describes uneven handles, blade-to-pliers contact, and below-average scissors. Another r/multitools commenter calls the blade "small, hard to deploy one-handed, and has a weird off-center grind that's kind of annoying to sharpen." And yet, on the same subreddit, other owners call it "one of the best bang for your buck deals out there" at the sub-$45 price, and another r/multitools thread highlights the form factor, weight, and pocket clip as ideal for daily carry.
What reviewers liked
- r/multitools commenters praise the form factor, weight, and pocket clip for daily carry
- Spring-loaded needlenose pliers consistently called out as strong and useful
- Butterfly-open design gives quick one-handed access to pliers
- Roughly half the price of comparable Leatherman tools
Where it falls short
- r/multitools "brutal review" thread documents uneven handle alignment and QC issues
- Blade described in community threads as small, hard to open one-handed, and oddly ground
- Scissors widely criticized as poor in r/multitools discussion
- Smaller review base (~443 on Amazon) than the Leatherman field, so QC variance is harder to average out

The needlenose pliers and butterfly-open design earn consistent praise. Amazon's 4.5 across 443 verified-purchase reviews lands roughly where the community sentiment averages out, useful, capable, but not in the same QC league as a Leatherman.
For reviewers who want a name-brand multi-tool at under half the price of a Wave+, and who accept some QC variance and a mediocre blade, the Suspension-NXT remains a defensible pick. Buyers wanting more consistent fit-and-finish at any price will likely be happier with a Leatherman.

Tl;dr: I would not recommend this multi tool. The handles came uneven and wiggle back and forth, this causes the blade to smack into the pliers.
The form factor, weight, size, and clip of the NXT is perfect for me. Larger and heavier is fine as long as it still has a deep(ish) carry good pocket clip.
