The most common gripe, flagged by Lowe's customer reviews, is that the saw ships without a carrying case or bag, and Home Depot reviewers note it doesn't include a blade set, so plan to buy blades separately. There's also no battery convenience here, the corded design is the point for demolition users who want constant power.
For anyone tearing out framing, cutting pipe, or doing repetitive heavy cuts, the consensus across expert and retailer sources is that the DWE305 delivers dependable corded power at a reasonable price, with the four-way clamp adding genuine versatility.
- Powerful 12 amp motor of the reciprocating saw is designed for heavy-duty applications
- 4-position blade clamp allows for flush cutting and increased versatility
- Keyless, lever-action blade clamp for quick and easy blade changes
- 0-2,900 SPM and 1-1/8-inch stroke length for fast and efficient cutting
- Variable speed trigger allows user to instantly control speed
The DCS386 Flexvolt Advantage is DeWalt's best recip saw. I use this in place of a chainsaw on most of my trimming jobs. It's a monster and very smooth.
The dewalt compact may not be the most powerful out there but the blade change system is vastly superior. It does in fact fit between studs.
