The consensus
What reviewers found
Synthesized across the trust-weighted source mix below.
Across the reviewers we read, the GENIUS2 is the consensus pick for motorcycles, ATVs, lawn tractors, classic cars in storage, and small AGM batteries where a 5A or 10A charger would be excessive. Crutchfield's expert-vetted reviews describe it as a compact device that charges AGM batteries reasonably quickly with a notable feature density for the price. Best Buy verified-purchase reviewers (a high-trust retailer signal) highlight its ability to revive weak batteries and its dual 6V/12V support, useful for older vehicles and small powersport batteries.
What reviewers liked
- Crutchfield and Best Buy verified-purchase reviewers praise feature density at the price
- r/batteries consensus recommends it specifically for stored motorcycle batteries
- Supports lithium (LiFePO4) in addition to all lead-acid chemistries
- Dual 6V/12V output useful for classic cars and powersport batteries
- Safe to leave connected indefinitely as a winter maintainer
Where it falls short
- 2A output is too slow for full-size car batteries as a primary charger
- No display beyond status LEDs
- Some r/batteries users find the multi-step charge sequence opaque without reading the manual
- Force/repair mode is more limited than on the larger Genius units

On r/batteries, multiple threads recommend it for trickle-charging a stored motorcycle battery and confirm that smart-charger behavior is well-suited to seasonal storage. A poster running the unit on a 12V 70Ah AGM in a low-use car also reports it working as expected, though it's slow on larger batteries by design.
Where reviewers diverge: the budget-tier price tempts buyers to use it on full-size car batteries, which works but is genuinely slow. For anything beyond a small battery, the GENIUS5 is a better match. Otherwise, the GENIUS2 is one of the most universally recommended trickle chargers in the category.

I'm looking at using a Noco Genius 2 to trickle charge a battery for a motorcycle that is in a storage shipping container without a power socket.
I seen this while browsing Amazon and I thought it'd be cool to install on truck but didn't know if anyone would recommend it.
