What reviewers found
Synthesized across the trust-weighted source mix below.
Across the reviewers we read, the Britax Skyline is one of the most-recommended dedicated high-back boosters. csftl.org calls it long-lasting, comfortable, easy to use, and a good fit across multiple vehicles, and consumerreports.org confirms it provides far better belt fit with the back attached than as a backless booster — a useful, specific finding from a high-trust testing source. r/CPST threads recommend it alongside the Diono Cambria and Britax Highpoint specifically for tall kids.
What reviewers liked
- csftl.org (high-trust) rates it as long-lasting and a good fit across multiple vehicles
- consumerreports.org (high-trust) confirms strong belt fit in high-back mode
- r/CPST recommends it specifically for tall kids alongside the Diono Monterey and Britax Highpoint
- Sub-$120 price point for a well-regarded high-back
Where it falls short
- consumerreports.org explicitly notes the backless mode delivers materially worse belt fit
- r/KiaSorento user reports belt routing through the positioning guide is fiddly
- Heavier and bulkier than dedicated backless travel boosters

Verified-purchase reviewers on Amazon (2,894 ratings at 4.7) describe an easy install and durable fabric. The recurring caveat from a r/KiaSorento user is that the belt routing can be fiddly to thread correctly through the red positioning guide — a hands-on usability complaint worth noting.
The honest read: keep this one as a high-back. consumerreports.org's finding that the backless mode underperforms is the clearest disagreement we found in the data, and it argues for treating the Skyline as a high-back-first booster rather than a true two-stage seat.

This makes it prone to twisting/rolling, and it takes an adult's 2 hands to pull it through the red positioning hole, and doesn't seem to ...
We like it because the install is easy and it's fairly easy to clean (we had a few carsick momemts). The cup holders are a little love hate.
