What reviewers found
Synthesized across the trust-weighted source mix below.
Across the reviewers we read, the Teton Celsius XXL is the most consistently endorsed cold-weather camping bag in this pool. cleverhiker.com rates the 0°F version as one of the warmest and most affordable options on their best-camping-bags guide, and verified-purchase volume on Amazon (over 8,500 reviews averaging 4.7 stars) backs that up at a price point well under premium winter bags. Specialist-community sentiment on r/CampingGear and r/camping is unusually positive for a budget bag, with one r/CampingGear commenter reporting it kept them warm in -25°F conditions in Northern Minnesota and another describing it as 'toasty' at 8,200 feet in Colorado in the high teens.
What reviewers liked
- High-trust expert coverage at cleverhiker.com calls it one of the warmest affordable camping bags available
- Verified-purchase reviewers and r/CampingGear users repeatedly report real-world warmth into the teens and below with appropriate layering
- Roomy XXL cut and flannel lining draw consistent comfort praise
- Two draft tubes and a mummy-style hood pouch on the 0°F version are flagged as legitimate cold-weather features
Where it falls short
- Specialist-community consensus is that the 0°F rating is optimistic; comfortable use is closer to the low 20s for most sleepers
- Heavy and bulky — reviewers across r/camping and r/CampingGear say it's car-camping only
- The included compression sack draws repeated complaints for poor quality and design
- Some retailer reviewers report loose stitching at the foot box and zipper area on individual units

The disagreement to surface is rating realism. A r/CampingGear thread on the 0°F-rated Celsius concludes that with proper layering it's really good 'for low 20's or maybe a bit colder,' which is closer to a comfort rating than the marketed limit. That tracks with broader community guidance to derate budget bags by 10–15°F. Reviewers also universally call out bulk and weight: this is a car-camping and truck-camping bag, not a backpacking option. The poly-flannel lining and roomy XXL cut are praised for comfort, but the included compression sack draws repeated complaints for poor quality.

I run kinda hot, but I'd say this bag when you dress correctly is good for low 20's or maybe a bit colder.
I have a Teton Sports -32F and dang that thing is warm!! Toasty as can be, used it right at freezing with no issues.
