What reviewers found
Synthesized across the trust-weighted source mix below.
Across the reviewers we read, the VEAGASO 34-pint stands out mainly for its value and quiet operation, with the Amazon listing citing a ≤40 dB low-speed mode and a slim profile meant to sit beside furniture. The most useful independent signal is r/Dehumidifiers, where the VG380 is named directly as a roughly $140 basement option alongside pricier alternatives like the Midea Cube. Beyond that subreddit mention and the high Amazon rating, much of the supporting material is manufacturer-published or promotional YouTube content, so the consensus is narrower than its star rating implies.
What reviewers liked
- Strong 4.5-star average across 3,162 reviews
- Directly recommended in r/Dehumidifiers as a value basement pick around $140
- Quiet ≤40 dB low-speed mode and slim profile suit bedrooms and living areas
Where it falls short
- Most non-Amazon support is manufacturer pages and low-view promotional videos
- 34-pint capacity and modest coverage limit it for large or very damp spaces
- No independent lab testing surfaced in the signals to verify capacity claims

Beyond that subreddit mention and the high Amazon rating, much of the supporting material is manufacturer-published or promotional YouTube content, so the consensus is narrower than its star rating implies. Reviewers position it as a capable, genuinely quiet unit for bedrooms, bathrooms, and medium rooms up to a couple thousand square feet, rather than a heavy-duty basement workhorse.
- 3 Smart Modes for Every Space — Whether you need everyday moisture control, faster clothes drying, or continuous protection in damp areas, this dehumidifier has you covered. DEHU mode maintains your ideal living room humidity. DRY mode speeds up drying delicate clothes indoors. CONT mode runs nonstop for basements, crawl spaces, and any area that never seems to dry out. All adjusted with a single tap on the LED touchscreen.
- 2 Flexible Drainage Options — Never worry about water overflow again. Choose manual drainage: the included 0.53-gallon tank holds hours of collected moisture, and the auto shut-off feature stops the unit and alerts you with an indicator light when it's full — no spills, no guesswork. Prefer a hands-free setup? Connect the included drain hose for continuous 24/7 drainage straight to a floor drain or sink. Set it once and forget it.
- Intuitive LED Touch Panel — Adjust humidity targets, fan speed, timer, and operating mode with a simple tap — no manual needed. The bright LED display shows real-time humidity readings so you always know your home's condition at a glance. Set a 1–24 hour timer to match your schedule, or let the auto mode handle it for you. And if the power goes out? Our built-in Power Failure Memory automatically restores your last settings when power returns — no reprogramming required.
- Effortless Portability — Take humidity control to any room without the hassle. The integrated recessed handle offers a comfortable, secure grip, while the 360° swivel casters glide smoothly across hardwood, tile, and carpet — no lifting required. Slim profile fits beside furniture in any room — basement, bedroom, bathroom, or office.
- Whisper-Quiet Operation≤40dB —Running at just ≤40 dB in low-speed mode — quieter than a library — this dehumidifier works through the night without disrupting your sleep, work calls, or conversations. Activate sleep/low mode for even quieter overnight performance.
VEAGASO 34 Pint (VG380)- Price about $140. There's also the Midea Cube 50 Pint which is about $240 but there are mixed reviews out there...
I think you have a refrigerant leak which is the worst case for any dehumidifier. I'd assume it's a sealed system so there is no way to recharge ...
