Both can be accurate. Many digital gauges in this pool advertise ANSI B40.7 Grade 2A (+/-0.5%) calibration, while quality analog dial gauges hold ANSI B40.1 Grade A (+/-1%). The practical accuracy difference is small for everyday tire checks; digital gauges are simply easier to read precisely, especially in low light thanks to backlit displays.
