Are silnylon/ripstop tarps better than cheap poly tarps?

Inexpensive woven poly tarps like the Amazon Basics and CARTMAN options are heavier and bulkier but far cheaper and very durable for car camping, ground cover, and emergency use. Choose based on whether you carry it on your back.
