Are Tesla and non-Tesla chargers interchangeable?

Connectors differ: NACS units are designed for Tesla vehicles, while J1772 is the standard for most other EVs. Several listings here are sold in both connector types. Adapters exist in both directions, but buying the charger with the native connector for your vehicle avoids extra hardware.
